Andrew qualified from Queen’s University Belfast in 2008 with a BDS honours degree; he then completed his vocational training and returned to Banbridge where he has worked ever since. Implant dentistry has been a large component of his clinical practice since 2010 and Andrew has undertaken extensive and continuous training in this time, all the while gaining a wealth of clinical experience.
After many years combining general dental practice with implant and surgical dentistry, Andrew’s extensive training – including from renowned clinicians such as Dr Raja Patel and Dr Ashok Sehti – and considerable clinical experience, has led to his clinical practice now being defined and refined to both implant dentistry and minor oral surgery procedures. This includes:
A wide range of clinical implant solutions, from single tooth to full arch solutions, as well as ‘teeth in a day’
Complex extractions including wisdom teeth and impacted canines
Surgical endodontics (apicectomies)
Periodontal (gum) surgery
other soft tissue surgery
Additionally, he is trained in and provides conscious sedation for patients and is a recognised mentor for the Society of Advancement of Anaesthesia in Dentistry.
Andrew is registered with both the General Dental Council (UK) and Irish Dental Council.
Away from work, Andrew is kept busy with his young family, enjoys good food, walking in the Mournes - and maybe going to the gym.
