What to Expect

Your patients will be treated

The initial consultation is a full and through consultation, lasting in the region of 60-90 mins, with our clinical staff (both Treatment Co-ordinator and Dentist) and will include:

A detailed, social/medical and dental history

Digital examination, including soft and hard dental tissues and periodontal status,

Relevant radiographs/photos, intra-oral scan and if they choose to proceed, a CBCT.

Part of the consulation will be in a non-clinical setting to reflect and ask our tco any questions or concerns, we understand it can be hard to think of everything ‘on the spot’ and how you can often think of things after leaving that you wished you had asked.

We then proceed to produce a detailed treatment plan and costing, based on patient expectations, needs and budget. We give all our patients the opportunity to return at no extra cost by arrangement to discuss the treatment plan and answer any questions. Alternatively, this can be arranged via a telephone call or zoom call.

Once treatment has been completed, we will issue your patient with discharge letter and implant passport. Please be assured that we will be advocating their need for ongoing dental care and review upon completion of our component. It is in no-one’s interests for them to attend our clinic, invest heavily in their dental health, and fall into disrepair afterwards.

All our implant patients receive:

Follow up review and implant radiograph at 1 year post placement, free of charge.

Guidance on maintenance of their new implants and associated prosthesis.

We only use reputable implant companies whose products we would want used on ourselves or our family members. Implants are not one size fits all, and we use many different brands in different situations, however, they are all genuine, top quality precision engineered implants and components and we don’t use any cheaper alternatives.

We use a range of companies such as: Dentsply Sirona/Straumann/ANTH0GYR/ ZIMMER(Zimvie)/Sweden and Martina/MIS.

Company Logos ? can we use these re trademarks etc

We audit our implants placed to ensure we are providing the best implant success rate and most reliable methods to our patients.

We are continually developing ourselves; all the team regularly receive training in both our clinical skills and non-clinical (teamwork/communiation/organisational) skills. We regularly attend updates with organisations such as ADI, ITI, and Advanced? Implant Training.

The implant passport

This is a tool that we use in our clinic to ensure that patients always have information about the implant that has been fitted. With the ever-growing number of brands, as well as increased availability of lower quality alternative implants and components, we feel this is necessary. It gives traceability to the patient, and makes any future maintenance or problem solving easier, and clearly indicates they have been supplied with a device which is fit for purpose. It contains the following information:

  • Surgeon who placed the implant
  • The surgeon who restored it (if applicable)
  • Its position and type of abutment used

This is also of great interest for patients who travel a lot, in case at any time they need a check-up or care from a dentist who is not their usual professional but who will need all of the information.
